    Hi, I’m Penny, owner of the gym here at Hawksfield, mum of two and proof that it’s never too late to change your life.

    For most of my life, fitness wasn’t part of who I was. I loved good food, good wine, living life to the full and exercise just didn’t register on my radar! Then I hit my mid 40s and everything shifted. Perimenopause hit hard, life felt overwhelming and I honestly felt like I’d lost myself. My confidence dropped, my body changed and I didn’t understand what was happening. Walking into a gym for the first time took everything I had but it changed Everything. What started as an Escape became something so much bigger. I discovered strength training, rebuilt my confidence and for the first time in my life, I felt strong – both mentally and physically. That journey wasn’t perfect. I struggled, I learned but I grew and that’s exactly why I do what I do now.

    My mission is simple: to support people, especially those who feel lost, stuck, or unsure where to start. To help them feel stronger, healthier and more like themselves again. Now I run the gym, coach members through fat loss, fitness and wellbeing, work with online clients and teach classes, all in a space built on kindness, support and zero judgment. I’ve also recently qualified as a Yoga instructor, a dream I’ve had since I was 25 and am now working towards becoming a Personal Trainer.

    Hi, I'm Jordan and I am one of the personal trainers here at Personal Fitness.

    I have been in the fitness industry for over 17 years and during this time built up a wealth of knowledge and experience with helping a wide range of clients, from people who want to lose fat, gain strength and generally feel fitter and healthier. I also work with many of my clients, to help prevent and improve injuries and to feel more mobile.

    I am really proud to have won the award, for "Best Trainer in Cornwall" for 2025. I also had the fantastic opportunity of working alongside Joe Wicks The Body Coach, in leading one of his 5k fun runs alongside him, right here in Cornwall.

    Personal training isn't just a job to me, it's my passion. I am here to give you a personalised and tailored service and help you improve your lifestyle through strength, mobility training and body conditioning, whilst building your confidence, both inside and outside of the gym. I have helped clients who have never stepped into a gym before, through to improving athletes with their specific sports needs and goals.
    I pride myself on my professionalism, with a friendly and positive approach to all of my sessions. When you are ready to make a difference to your wellbeing and your life, I am here for you. Be it with face-to-face personal training or a tailored programme for you to follow. I hope I get the chance to work with you and am looking forward to supporting you on your health and wellbeing journey.

    In my spare time away from the gym, you will probably find me on the coast or in the woods, with my wife Tash and our Fox Red Labrador Rio.

    I've been teaching at Personal Fitness since the day it opened. I have loved meeting new members and who the majority I now call as friends. We are a great family network supporting each other both inside and outside the gym environment.

    Here's a little more info about me -

    My fitness journey started at a very young age of 5 when I started taking ballet, tap and modern dance lessons.

    Unfortunately, this stopped when I went to study to become an Orthoptist (Eye specialist) - which I did for 26 years in the NHS.

    As a stress relief and also as I was missing my dance classes, I started attending aerobic and step classes. I decided to take the leap and become an instructor. Shortly afterwards I qualified in Level 2 Exercise to music. Fast forward many years and I have now been a qualified Group Fitness instructor for 27 years teaching thousands of classes in person and online. 

    I'm a SH1FT instructor in all formats - BL1TZ, R1DE, M1ND, L1FT, R1ZE and STR1KE and was part of the initial launch group in the UK working directly with Will the creator almost 10 years ago.  I am a certified BEACHBODY instructor and had a large following in my INSANITY, P90X and PIYO classes.

    I am continually learning and striving to deliver the most up to date and fun classes suitable for all ages and abilities. 

    Moving to Cornwall nearly 6 years ago was the best thing we did. I love the outdoors, the stunning Cornish coastline is luckily on our doorstep and am often found with my husband and dog walking the coast path. I am also an avid cook and love trialling new healthy recipes from my huge cookery book selection!

    Being fit and healthy has been a huge part of my life and it would be fantastic if you could join me and the rest of the Personal Fitness Cornwall team to aid your fitness journey too.


    Rosie

    I'm Rosie! I've been in the health and fitness industry on and off now for about a decade - spanning a broad spectrum of experiences from group class instructing, 1-1 coaching as well as leisure and pool management, and currently hold level level 3 personal training and level 4 Strength and Conditioning certifications.

    My interest in fitness began when I started training in Pole fitness back in 2014 which eventually led me to coaching it! By the end of 2016 I had completed my Level 2 in gym instruction and had won a national silver medal in the WorldSkills competition in Birmingham NEC, recognising me in the top 2 gym instructors in the country at the time. Since then, alongside my core qualifications, I have qualified in an array of additional areas such as Nutrition for Health and Performance, Mental Health Awareness, Spinning, Beginner Pole Fitness, Kettlebells, HIIT, TRX and Boxercise.

    I took a break from the world of health and fitness in 2022, to pursue a lifelong dream of a career with Devon and Cornwall Police, where I proudly held the office of Constable - However, the role took too much of a toll and I resigned in late 2023. love a challenge and have partaken in an array of different challenges and disciplines myself, from Pro Wrestling where I became a Women's Champion in 2022, to competing in a HYROX alongside one of my clients in 2025.

    I have experience in coaching all kinds of clients, with ages ranging from 18 to 80 of every ability - and my passion lies in helping my clients feel strong and confident in a gym environment - The gym might seem scary - but let me show you that it doesn't have to be!
